Locals taking a stroll on a saturday afternoon
Manhattan, New York City
INTERVIEWS
I went out and interview a few locals on their opinions about the soda ban. This is the jest what they had to say...
Jackie H. ManhattanIf the reason to lower the oz. s is because of obesity then why don't we start with our children's safety. Less kids would come out over weight or obese if we had safer outdoor playgrounds and that schools would stop cutting cost on physical education to use it on something else. Of course how can you for get the lack of education of both parents and children on the difference between being full and being well fed. You eat less if you follow good nutrition, and look for healthy snacks. These things can really make a dint on obesity.

Leo R. QueensThis ban is not legal and smart, but only a bunch of bull. Its simply not the role of the government to micro-mange us on the way we live, eat, and drink especially on our diet choices. Plus the amount of soda we actually get in our cups is a lot less then people think because of the loads of ice we throw in it. Not to mention as well the cost of eating healthy these days is overly priced and burns a hole in us hard working Americans. Try making a healthy meal for four and compare that to the cost of a fast food meal. Its cheaper to just to super size a number 1 and go with it.

Ryan J. BronxMy rational opinion is that reducing the amount of ounces you can consume in one serving is not going to the help the problem of obesity but hurt it more. It a call for people to rebel out the law because people feel that it’s their body and they shouldn’t feel obligated to be forced how to eat and drink. Of course I agree with it on some terms since the health cost is coming out of our taxpayer money.
