Soda Ban: Good idea or Bad Idea? Is a personal argumentative webpage about Michael Bloomberg-New York City’s mayor made headlines when he recommended a controversial ban on selling sodas larger than 16 ounces at any main New York City sellers. Under this law any restaurant, street vendor, fast food chain, deli, sports venue, and movie theaters would not be allowed to sell bottles and cups of soda that exceeded the size limit. Health care legislation lately has been dealing with distraught New York City residents due to the new soda ban.
This webpage is a Multi Genre Argumentative project for classroom purposes and is not intended for sell or breaking copyright law. So feel free to browse through the informative tabs about health, law, graphs, advertisements, and comics. Also interviewing locals on their take on the ban. Im sure you will enjoy them as it breaks down from "what is obesity", "can they really pass this ban?" to even statistics about our drinking frenzy in the past three decades. Not only did I make this website for school purposes but as well for a visitor to go along each page, and start to build their own opinion on this whole soda controversy. The soda ban is a really good idea on fighting back against the obesity in America, but the majority including myself knows it just wont work. Even if it a huge burden to be putting on people when the majority of the 6/10 overweight New York residents (Lancet) will say you can not legislate morality, but at the same time it never hurts to push or “roll” someone in the right direction when they cant. Somethings got to give, even if its trial or error at least mayor Bloomberg is trying something solve this epidemic in New York and hopefully it becomes successful to lead into major cities all over America.
So have fun with this website, there is alot of pictures and videos to guide you through the understanding of the ban starting with Casey Neistat's "Soda Ban Explained" video below for you to watch. Enjoy!
